Meet the client
Novum Salons are a small Cheshire-based salon chain with sites in Tarvin and Kingsley. They offer a wide range of hair, beauty, wellness, and skin services - as well as their signature package ‘Discover You’ offering a bespoke prescription of treatments. Set up by husband and wife team (and former accountants) Julie and David, they’re on a mission to completely redefine the salon experience, and to make a difference to their clients by helping them look and feel their absolute best. The brief
Novum Salons came to me with a clear vision: they wanted a website that truly reflected the heart of their business, their expertise, and the five-star client experience they provide. Their original website served its purpose as a functional booking platform when they first launched the salons, but as the business grew in ambition and identity - it began to feel limited.
Content strategy & design
From the outset, this web design project was about much more than aesthetics. It was about creating a digital space that felt like walking through the Novum Salon doors: relaxing and supportive.
We took a content-first approach which included:
clarifying Novum’s messaging
creating detailed, SEO-optimised pages for each individual service
exploring client queries and pain points - and creating easy-to-find information that would help clients feel more informed, empowered and ready to book.
embedding the salon’s Google Reviews for social proof
The results
It’s early days, but the results that Novum Salons have seen since launching their new website have been incredible.
increased salon footfall: since launching, Julie has said that one day they had ten new clients in their salons - which is unheard of previously.
SEO success: it’s early days - but the new website is already showing up on google searches - often as the Google AI Overview. They’re committed to SEO and Julie has published a number of blogs and updating their site with fresh content.
Their team are proud of the new website: it’s been a huge motivator for everyone, and there’s been a significant up-turn in applications for job openings as they’re seen as a player to watch in the industry.
